The Sunset Limited follows a God-fearing ex-con who saves a despondent college professor from throwing himself in front of a speeding subway train. He won't let the depressed man leave, without following him, and feel he's in this situation for a reason, decided by God. So he struggles to comprehend the suicidal man's unwavering despair during a series of intense philosophical debates.
